Steel broke through the glass ceiling when she became chief at Columbia Pictures in 1987. At Paramount Pictures she helped to develop Flashdance, Footloose, Top Gun, The Untouchables, and Fatal Attraction.
Wow. Do all that and you get an estate like this, apparently.
After she was diagnosed with a brain tumor the previous year, she died in 1997 at the age of 51.
