Meet 310babii, a 17-year-old rapper from Inglewood who’s rise to stardom came from phone-recorded tracks in his bedroom. Instead of typical studio sessions, 310babii still prefers his phone and BandLab, an app that is gaining traction with musicians around the world. He recently stopped by LA Weekly’s premiere podcast, Rockstar Lifestyle, to speak on his musical journey.

His song “SOAK CITY”, recorded on BandLab, has gone extremely viral on socials and has been used by celebrities, sports franchises and more. It quickly gained traction after his high school classmates in Compton, CA created a viral dance for it. The song’s popularity reached notable figures in the industry, including Saucy Santana, YG, 03 Greedo, Mike Will, DJ Mustard, and more.

When asked how he put such an impressive lineup of superstar rappers on the “SOAK CITY” remix he stated that they actually came to him. “They just tapped in on Instagram,” 310babii modestly informed Rockstar Lifestyle.

The original “SOAK CITY” has amassed an impressive 30 million streams in just a few months, eventually cracking Billboard Hot 100. The song has also hit #1 on the US Shazam Top 200, #7 on TikTok’s Viral 50 Chart, and #26 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

The momentum doesn’t stop there – with cosigns from Travis Scott, Russell Westbrook, FIFA, Juventus, and other prominent figures, 310babii’s sound has become a widely used in the world of sports and entertainment, earning a spot on Spotify’s RAP CAVIAR playlist. Complex even dubbed the track as the “go-to celebration in sports right now.”

With 310babii being a high school student, one would imagine that his life at school has changed dramatically, but 310babii says otherwise. “From last year to this year, nothing’s really changed. I’m still the same, just chillin’. I’m not in everybody’s face or anything.”

With that being said, 310babii is not your typical high school student. He has his finger to the pulse of the coveted high school demographic when it comes to trends and popular sounds, proving himself an asset to music labels and artists alike. He is currently gearing up to headline the Roxy Theater on his 18th birthday and once he graduates high school this year, he plans on traveling the world. Keep up with 310babii on his Instagram and check out his music on all streaming services.
