Deputies were called to the 1000 block of West 223rd Street at 5:10 p.m., authorities said.

Coronado was detained at the scene and ultimately booked on suspicion of murder, according to the sheriff's statement:

The deputies made entry into the residence where they located the three juvenile victims, ranging in approximate age of 3-years to 2-months-old. The suspect, and mother of the children, was located adjacent to the victims. She was immediately detained.

The three children were declared dead at the scene deputies said.

Cops said 223rd Street at Meylers Street would be closed through most of the night as detectives continued to investigate the tragedy.

[Update at 5:41 p.m.]: Sheriff's officials today said that Coronado “was discovered by a family member lying on a bed covered in blood, next to her three daughters in a bedroom of the location.”

She was hospitalized for self-inflicted stab wounds, deputies said.

The children suffered stab wounds, they said, but the exact cause of death would be determined by the coroner's office.

The sheriff's department said it would recommend that prosecutors charge the woman with three counts of suspicion of murder.
