Three Occupants Pronounced Dead after Train Accident near Milepost 528.6

KINGMAN, AZ (April 8, 2021) – Sunday afternoon, three people were killed in a deadly vehicle versus train collision in Golden Valley.

Police officers received reports of the accident around 2:42 p.m. Deputies arrived and located two severely damaged vehicles that had been hit by the train.

Per reports, all three occupants inside of the two vehicles were pronounced dead on scene.

Authorities later learned that the vehicles were stopped at the railroad crossing while waiting for a passing eastbound train at milepost crossing 528.6.

Once the train passed, the vehicles began crossing the intersection, not seeing an approaching westbound train. As a result, the train struck both vehicles.

At this time, further details leading up to the train collision are still unclear. Although, an active investigation remains ongoing.

The surrounding area in Golden Valley was closed during cleanup and preliminary duties. But, the roadway has since reopened.
