Pickup Truck vs. Sedan Head-on Collision Left Three People Dead
LOMPOC VALLEY, CA (June 21, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a two-vehicle head-on collision left three people dead on Highway 1.
It happened in the northbound lanes of the Hwy at around 6:00 a.m., June 6th, Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
In addition, Safechuck stated that a 2008 Kia and a 2017 Chevy were the vehicles involved in the collision.
Upon investigation, the officers have learned that the Kia was traveling south on the Hwy, just south of Constellation Road, and the Chevy was in the northbound lanes.
For unknown reasons, the Kia veered over to the opposite lanes and collided head-on with the Chevy.
As a result, three occupants from the Kia were all pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities were withheld, pending family notification.
Furthermore, the 52-year-old driver of the Chevy and the 19-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries and they were taken to Marian Regional Medical Center.
Meanwhile, the northbound lanes of the Highway were blocked for two hours before it was reopened.
