Three Hospitalized after Wrong-Way Collision near State Route 52

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 16, 2022) Early Sunday morning, a wrong-way crash on Interstate 805 left three people with injuries.

The accident occurred around 5:00 a.m., on the northbound lanes of I-805 near State Route 52 on November 6th.

According to reports, a wrong-way driver was heading south in the northbound lanes of Interstate 805 and crashed into the center divider. The vehicle then rolled down an embankment and flipped over before coming to a stop. 

Emergency crews arrived and extricated the driver and two passengers that were trapped in their vehicle. Medics then transported them to Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla with minor injuries.

Following preliminary duties, police arrested the driver on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

At this time, officials have not released information about the vehicles and the injured parties. However, an active investigation is currently underway.
