Drivers Hospitalized after Auto Accident near 7th Street

PHOENIX, AZ (June 17, 2022) – Early Monday morning, three victims suffered injuries in a wrong-way collision on Interstate 10.

The incident happened just after midnight, near 7th Street. Dispatchers responded to the scene shortly after.

For unknown reasons, a Dodge Charger was heading south in the northbound lanes from the 7th Street off-ramp. There, the Dodge crashed into a Lexus.

First responders had to extricate one of the drivers trapped in the wreck before transporting three victims to nearby hospitals for treatment.

At this time, it is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the wrong-way collision on Interstate 10. However, an active investigation is underway. Phoenix authorities will release further details once they become available.
