Several Injured in Auto Collision near  Homeless Encampment

BANNING, CA (June 16, 2022) – Tuesday morning, a car crash on Interstate 10 left several people with injuries, police said.

The auto collision happened at around 8:30 a.m., on June 14th. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

Following preliminary investigations, officers revealed that a black mustang got a flat tire and lost control. Consequently, the driver crashed into a nearby silver pickup-truck on Interstate 10.

The pickup-truck driver then lost control and struck a homeless camp where multiple tents were located.

Paramedics arrived and transported three injured victims to a nearby hospital for further treatment of unspecified injuries.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. Meanwhile, an active investigation into the crash on Interstate 10 is underway.
