Three Hospitalized after Police-Vehicle Crash on 51st Avenue

PHOENIX, AZ (December 12, 2022) – Late Friday afternoon, three victims sustained injuries in a patrol car collision on Thomas Road.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m., on 51st Avenue on November 25th.

Investigators determined that the drivers of two trucks were traveling at high rates of speed and slammed into a patrol car.

Medics arrived and transported two officers and one of the involved drivers to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

The second driver, a minor, remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Emergency crews closed 51st Avenue from Thomas Road south to Virginia Avenue during cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway.
