Deadly Helicopter Crash near South Hathaway Street Left 3 Seriously Hurt

BANNING, CA (September 20, 2022) – Saturday, a helicopter crash near the Banning Airport left three people hospitalized.

The incident happened on September 10th, in the 200 block of South Hathaway Street, involving a Bell 206 helicopter.

According to reports, the occupants of the helicopter were two Cal Fire firefighters and the pilot. They were flying in the area when, for reasons currently unknown, the helicopter crashed. All three occupants of the aircraft sustained injuries.

Emergency crews responded to the crash and extricated the victims from the vessel. Medics then transported all the victims to a local hospital for treatment of moderate wounds.

Investigators state that no residential houses were struck in the helicopter crash near Hathaway Street. At this time, no further information is available regarding the accident.
