3 Hospitalized after Pedestrian Accident on Sixth Avenue

SAN DIEGO, CA (January 20, 2022) Saturday afternoon, three individuals sustained injuries in a pedestrian collision on Sixth Avenue.

The collision occurred around 12:16 p.m., in the 1600 block of Sixth Avenue. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

California Highway Patrol officers say car collided into a structure in the area under unclear circumstances. Officers later discovered that the truck collided with the outside of a barbershop, inflicting around $10,000 in damage.

Additionally, the truck driver smashed into a tree in front of the barbershop, according to photos collected at the site by the SDFRD.

Paramedics arrived and took two people to UC San Diego Medical Center and one to Scripps Mercy Hospital. Authorities have not yet released their identities or current condition.

Officers are currently conducting an active investigation into the crash.
