One Person Airlifted Following Traffic Collision near Riverview Drive

MADERA, CA (April 5, 2023) – Sunday evening, at least three people were injured in a head-on crash on Granada Drive.

Officers responded to the incident report around 6:00 p.m. between Riverview Drive and Sunset Avenue.

Based on the investigation, a southbound driver on Granada attempted to pass a car in front of him on the right-hand side.

While trying to overtake the car, he hit it on the side, causing him to veer into the lane of oncoming traffic.

As a result, the overtaking driver collided head-on with another vehicle traveling north on Granda. The crash sent the northbound driver into a tree.

Eventually, emergency personnel arrived and transported the driver who caused the crash and another driver to a hospital.

A third driver involved in the incident was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center for significant injuries.

Madera Officials continue to investigate the Granada Drive head-on crash.
