Silver Lake is getting its own food festival, with 25 vendors, chefs, DJs, musicians and more, hosted by 
Mack Sennett Studios, Castle Gourmet and Food Is the New Rock. Who's coming? Alimento, Auntie Em's Kitchen, Angel City Brewing, Black Hogg, Donut Friend, HomeState, Kitchen Mouse, Little Beast, Mexicali Taco & Co., McConnell's Ice Cream, Starry Kitchen, Sticky Rice, Oinkster and more.

Día de los Muertos at Border Grill
Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Miliken celebrate Día de los Muertos at both of their Border Grill restaurants with two weeks of special dishes. At Santa Monica, dishes include a trio of roasted baby beets; pulpo a la parrilla, with sous vide octopus and forbidden rice. At the DTLA restaurant, special items include chile en nogada and black seeded lamb chops with crispy yucca.

Mélisse Halloween Dinner
Chef Josiah Citrin celebrates Halloween with a five-course holiday menu for $85 per person. Special items at the famously upscale Santa Monica restaurant include squash ravioli with chanterelle mushrooms, pomegranates and sorrel; Chatham Bay cod with smoked Jerusalem artichoke, white mushrooms and Malabar spinach; and flatiron steak with braised beef cheek, Swiss chard, eggplant and parsley.
