Several Injured in Single-Car Collision at Hames Hollow

SANTA CRUZ, CA (May 27, 2022) – Monday afternoon, three victims were airlifted following an auto accident on Hames Road.

Police responded to the scene around 5:40 p.m., at Hames Hollow. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to reports, the driver of a 2002 Mazda hit a tree and a fire hydrant. However, the events leading up still remain unclear.

Water from the fire hydrant was landing on the Mazda, making it more difficult for emergency responders to extricate the victims.

Medics say the crash resulted in three major injuries, including a child. Crews then airlifted the victims to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Following preliminary investigations, officers do not believe that alcohol or drugs played a factor.

No other details regarding the crash are available at the moment. Once available, further details will be provided.
