… 3 kilometers southeast of Marina Del Rey, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake struck about 13 kilometers below the earth's surface, the USGS states.
Yes, lawn chairs were knocked over and sun tanners were awaken by this catastrophe. (Not really.)
No damage was reported.
[Added at 2:38 p.m.]: The L.A. Fire Department says it's in normal operating mode following the shaker. Our interpretation: They're not going to go out and check for damage. Sometimes following quakes the department goes into temporary emergency mode and checks buildings for cracks, etc.
