The Good Food Pie Contest is back, and they are taking applications now. The contest comes thanks to Evan Kleiman, host of KCRW's Good Food, owner of Angeli Caffe, and most appropriately, creator of her recently rejuvenated Pie-a-Day project.

The contest will have five categories (fruit, nut, savory, cream/custard/chiffon/mousse, and “interpretative”), and competitors are allowed to submit pies in as many categories as they would like, but with only one entry in each. Judges for the contest, taking place in Beverly Hills on September 5th, will be The Weekly's own Jonathan Gold, Karen Hatfield (Hatfield's), Roxanna Jullapat (Ammo), Zoe Nathan (Huckleberry Cafe), and Akasha Richmond (Akasha).

The deadline for registration is August 30th at 5pm.
