The first Eat My Blog bake sale, held last December, was such a success that food blogger Cathy Danh (Gastronomy) has decided to hold another one. The second bake sale, with proceeds again going to the L.A. Regional Foodbank, will take place on Saturday, June 19th at the Hollywood outpost of Tender Greens. And it won't be the last one either. Danh says that the sale was such a “whirlwind of awesomeness” that she and her fellow blogger-organizers will be having the sales “twice a year from here on out.”

Expect over 2,000 baked goods from more than 70 bakers. Items already scheduled include bacon chocolate chip cookies, salted caramels, strawberry balsamic cakes, carrot cake cookie sandwiches and Momofuku's crack pie. Among the goodies for sale will be donations from local chefs and restaurants, including Evan Kleiman, Scoops Ice Cream, Starry Kitchen and Valerie Confections. All items will be priced between $1 and $4, with the money going to the Food Bank. The previous bake sale, according to Danh, raised over $3,000 and sold out within the first three hours.

As for why that particular cause, Danh wrote in an email yesterday that they decided to donate to the Foodbank “because their mission resonates with the L.A. food blogging community. We're a group of people who make eating well a priority, so it makes sense that we'd want to extend that privilege to everyone in our city. Too many people go hungry every day. This is our way of making sure that fewer people are food insufficient.”
