Announced again in the pre-dawn hours in Los Angeles—this year by actor Chris Pine and Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs—were the nominations of eight films out of a possible ten for the Best Picture Academy Award. Also announced on Thursday, January 15 were the nominees in 23 other categories. The 87th annual Academy Awards will be held February 22 in Los Angeles.
