A 20-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder after the SUV she was driving plowed into a minivan, causing the death of a man inside, police said today.

The suspect, identified as Saidy Samayoa, was fleeing a felony hit-and-run collision “at a high rate of speed” when the Toyota 4Runner she was driving struck the Toyota Sienna minivan, the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement.

It all started at 11:30 a.m. yesterday when the first collision happened at Sepulveda Boulevard and Parthenia Street in North Hills, cops said.

“The suspect drove off at a high rate of speed heading westbound on Parthenia Street,” LAPD stated. “The suspect failed to stop at a red tri-light and was subsequently involved in a second serious collision with a white Toyota Sienna that was traveling northbound on Haskell Avenue. There were two adults in the front of the Toyota Sienna and there were four children in the back seats.”

A man in the Sienna was declared dead at a hospital, police said. His name was being withheld until loved ones could be notified of his demise.

All four children in the minivan were hospitalized with “severe injuries,” according to the LAPD.

Samayoa and two men in her SUV also were hospitalized with severe injuries, cops said.

She was booked yesterday afternoon on suspicion of murder, according to Los Angeles Sheriff's Department inmate records. Her initial bail was set at $2 million, those records indicate.

We reached out to traffic detectives to ask if the suspect was subjected to DUI testing, but we were unable to reach anyone.

Anyone with information on the collision was asked to call investigators at 818-644-8025.
