2 Women Changing Flat Tire Hospitalized after Collision on Route 52

LA JOLLA, CA (January 5, 2022) – Last Wednesday morning, two women were injured following a collision on Route 52.

According to California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 12:15 a.m. on the eastbound portion of SR-53 near the transition to Interstate 5.

As the two were trying to change their flat tire, an eastbound vehicle believed to have lost control due to the wet road and crashed into them.

As of this time, reports did not clarify their condition, but they were rushed to Scripps La Jolla Hospital.

The driver of the car that struck them remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities.
