Two Teens Hospitalized after Auto-Pedestrian Crash on Park Way and 4th Avenue

CHULA VISTA, CA (August 25, 2021) – Two high school girls sustained injuries after an auto-pedestrian crash on Park Way and 4th Avenue on Monday evening.

The collision occurred at 7:40 p.m. on August 23 at the intersection of Park Way and 4th Avenue.

According to the CHP, two teenagers were crossing 4th avenue eastbound in a marked crosswalk when they were struck by a passing vehicle.

Moreover, one teenager was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to medics. The teen was still in critical condition Monday night, and the second victim was said to have non-life threatening injuries.

At the moment, police have not identified either victim.

Furthermore, the vehicle’s driver, a man in his 60s, remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

Drugs or alcohol are not thought to have played a role in the crash, however, the cause of the crash is still being investigated.
