Solo-Car Crash at Highway 13 Resulted in Fatalities

OAKLAND, CA (September 23, 2022) – Wednesday morning, a solo-car crash at Highway 13 claimed the lives of two people.

The accident occurred at around 3:33 a.m. near the Redwood Road off-ramp.

According to California Highway Patrol, two people were in a vehicle traveling southbound when the driver lost control and struck a guardrail. The car then hit some trees before coming to a stop and bursting into flames.

First responders arrived and declared the two people dead at the scene. At this time, authorities have withheld their identities pending notification of next of kin.

Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Meanwhile, an active investigation into the solo-car crash at Highway 13 is underway. Once available, further details will be provided.
