2 Dead, 1 Injured after Pedestrian Collision near Almaden Expressway

SAN JOSE, CA (January 26, 2022)Tuesday evening, two pedestrians were fatally struck in a deadly crash on Foxworthy Avenue.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 8:24 p.m., near Almaden Expressway.

Reports from the investigation revealed that the driver of a 2017 Toyota sedan was traveling north on Almaden Expressway in the No. 1 lane. There, the driver struck three pedestrians who were crossing from the west side towards the east side of the expressway.

Additionally, investigators say the vehicle had a green light at the intersection.

Paramedics transported two male pedestrians to local hospitals where they later died due to the extent of their injuries. Moreover, the third female victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries and cooperated with the investigation. There was no indication of drug or alcohol influence according to authorities.
