Patrol Cars Slammed by SUV near University Parkway

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (May 11, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, two officers sustained injuries in a vehicle crash on Interstate 215. The incident happened on April 23rd, at around 4:30 a.m., in the northbound lanes of the freeway near the University Parkway exit. According to reports, police were in the area investigating an earlier incident. They were parked when an SUV, traveling northbound, struck the patrol car. The two officers that were in the patrol car sustained injuries as a result of the collision. Following the crash, medics transported the two injured officers to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, authorities took a person into custody but the charges were not yet cited by the investigators. Also, the deputies blocked all northbound lanes of the freeway during the incident.
