Highway 180 DUI Crash Resulted to Two Fatalities

FRESNO, CA (August 18, 2021) A deadly DUI crash on Highway 180 claimed the life of two people on Monday, California Highway Patrol said.

Officers responded to the incident just after 6:30 P.M. on Highway 180 near James Road, west of Carman.

Upon arrival, they discovered a Honda Odyssey and a Ford, both off the road due to the impact.

The investigators also claimed that the westbound Ford driver turned into the opposite road and collided head-on with the eastbound Odyssey.

In addition, a Dodge pickup behind the Odyssey attempted to swerve to avoid the collision but his truck capsized.

Tragically, both the Ford and Honda drivers died at the scene, according to the authorities.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the Dodge driver to a hospital after suffering from moderate injuries.

Fresno Officials are identifying the factors that contributed to the crash with the suspicion of DUI involved.

At this time, the identity of the two deceased drivers remain unavailable.
