2 Pronounced Dead after Solo-Car Accident near Airport Road

OCEANSIDE, CA (February 22, 2022) – Two people died early Saturday morning, in a single-vehicle fiery collision on State Route 76.

The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m., near Airport Road. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

According to Oceanside police, the deadly crash occurred on February 19. Per reports, the driver of a Dodge SUV hit a pole near the intersection for reasons unknown.

The impact caused the vehicle to burst into flames. By the time firefighters arrived and put out the fire, the two occupants inside the SUV died.

Authorities have not yet identified those involved in the accident. Their names remain withheld pending notification of next of kin.

As of this time, Oceanside police said there are still no known witnesses to the crash and the incident is still under investigation. No further details are public at this time.
