Pedestrian Crash on Orchard Street Resulted in Two Fatalities

MONTCLAIR, CA (December 28, 2021) – Two people died in a pedestrian crash on Ramona Avenue and Orchard Street early Saturday evening.

Authorities said a speeding BMW was heading east at around 5:30 p.m. when the 43-year old driver failed to stop at the stop sign and killed a 61-year old pedestrian.

The driver kept going down Orchard Street before turning north onto Monte Vista Avenue.

The BMW collided with a vehicle stopped at a red light south of Monte Vista Avenue and San Bernardino Street intersection. The car then continued to travel north in the wrong lanes before it collided with another vehicle head-on.

The BMW driver died at the scene while the two occupants sustained unknown injuries.

At this time, the identities of those involved in the crash have not been disclosed.
