Vehicle Crash near Myers Flat Left Two Fatalities

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, CA (June 15, 2022) – On Monday, a motorcycle collision on Highway 101 claimed the lives of two people.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle collision occurred around 4:45 p.m. near Myers Flat.

Furthermore, investigators said the incident involved a Toyota 4Runner and a motorcycle that collided for unknown reasons.

Unfortunately, the SUV driver and the motorcyclist both succumbed to their injuries at the scene.

Afterwards, a second motorcyclist also sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Both directions of Highway 101 were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

At this time, Humboldt County Officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the fatal motorcycle crash on Highway 101. An active investigation is currently underway at this time.
