Young drivers should not be allowed to have unrestricted driving privileges until they are at least of the minimum driving age and have gained sufficient experience. And while the driver’s license allows teens to drive independently, it is important that parents establish clear rules for safe and responsible driving, as well as rules for the use of the vehicle. It is also helpful to supervise your kids’ behind-the-wheel driving experience to develop defensive driving habits.
