Drivers Hospitalized after a Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate 580 near Seminary Road

OAKLAND, CA (MAY 3, 2023) – Sunday morning, a wrong-way truck crash on Interstate 580 left two people injured.

The incident happened on April 23rd, just after 7:00 a.m., in the westbound lanes of the interstate near Seminary Road.

According to reports, an Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes and was intentionally attempting to crash into other vehicles. The wrong-way driver crashed into a Ford F-250 owned by the Oakland City. The drivers of the F-250 and the F-150 both obtained injuries.

Consequently, medics transported both drivers to a local hospital for treatment. Officials later reported that the wrong-way driver suffered major injuries.

Following the crash, investigators have not released any further information regarding the wrong-way crash on Interstate 580.
