At Least Two People Hurt in Wrong-Way Collision on Interstate 8

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 30, 2021) – At least two people sustained injuries Sunday following a wrong-way collision on Interstate 8.

The collision took place around 2:30 a.m., on September 26. Authorities arrived along the westbound lanes near Taylor Street.

At this time, the events leading up to the crash remain unknown. However, police say a wrong-way vehicle crashed into another vehicle along the highway.

Responding officers located a black BMW and a silver Honda at the crash site, but they did not determine which car was traveling the wrong way.

Officials said that at least two people suffered injuries. Although, there has been no update on their current condition.

At this time, it is unknown whether speed, drugs, or alcohol played a role in the crash. However, an active investigation is underway.
