Two Hospitalized after Big-Rig Collision near Main Street

HESPERIA, CA (April 12, 2022) Early Saturday morning, two victims were airlifted to a hospital after a semi-truck crash on 15 Freeway.

Officers said the crash happened around 1:46 a.m., near the Main Street overpass.

Per reports, a tractor-trailer combination traveling at an unknown speed, collided with the back of the semi, leaving two people trapped.

San Bernardino County Firefighters arrived to the scene and reported two critical patients requiring extrication. Eventually, Mercy 66 airlifted one of the injured to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Additionally, Mercy 22 airlifted the other victim to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. The driver of the other semi sustained no injuries, according to medical crews.

Meanwhile, Caltrans responded to approximately 30 gallons of diesel and oil in the roadway. Authorities stopped the spill before reaching the shoulder.

California Highway Patrol officers conducted a traffic break just north of Bear Valley Road that lasted about 10 minutes.

At this time, the official cause of the semi-truck crash on 15 Freeway is under investigation by the Victorville CHP station.
