Traffic Accident on 11th Street Interrupted Power in a Neighborhood

WATTS, CA (July 4, 2022) – Early Thursday morning, two people were injured in a multi-car collision on Compton Boulevard.

The traffic accident occurred on Compton Boulevard and 11th Street on June 30th, at around 2:00 a.m.

According to LAPD, a vehicle was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed. For reasons currently unknown, the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with several parked cars and a power pole. As a result of the impact, the power pole came down, struck a house, and caused a fire and a power outage in the surrounding areas.

First responders put out the fire, and took two people, with serious injuries, to a local hospital for treatment. Kenya Sanchez, who was in the house when the power pole crashed into it, was unharmed.

At this time, further investigations are still underway.
