2 Airlifted after Fiery Crash on 160th Street and Avenue D

FAIRMONT, CA (June 29, 2021) – Two people sustained critical injuries Friday afternoon after two-vehicle crash at 160th Street and D Street.

The incident happened just after 5:30 p.m. on the intersection of 160th Street and Avenue D.

According to LAPD, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason near the intersection. As a result, the crash ignited a 100-acre brush fire in the surrounding area.

Paramedics airlifted two patients in critical condition to a local hospital, although at this time, officials have not identified the involved parties.

Officers continue to investigate the cause of the accident. Investigators will release additional information once it becomes available.
