At Least Two Individuals Hurt Following a Pedestrian Accident on 164th Avenue

VANCOUVER, WA (October 21, 2021) Two people were injured in a deadly pedestrian accident on 164th Avenue on Tuesday night.

The accident took place at the intersection of Southeast 164th Avenue and 34th Street around 10:09 p.m. on October 12.

The Vancouver Police Department responded to the site after receiving reports of a vehicle that ran a red light and T-boned a C-Tran bus.

A few minutes later, another car rear-ended an assisting vehicle after running over emergency reflectors.

The impact caused the car to collide into two pedestrians.

Responding officers said that the pedestrians’ injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Police did not release any additional information at this time. However, the cause of the accident and factors involved remain under investigation.

When approaching an intersection or a marked crosswalk, reduce your speed and look out for pedestrians crossing. Also, pay attention to traffic lights and road signs. Avoid distractions and always practice defensive driving.
