SAN BERNARDINO, CA (March 2, 2023) – Wednesday afternoon, a train versus truck collision on Rancho Avenue left at least two people injured.

According to the investigators, a truck driver was heading eastbound towards the train tracks at a high rate of speed.

However, the driver “failed to stop from the guard crossing arm and collided into the eastbound Metrolink train.”

Police claimed that at least 30 people were occupying the train at the time of the incident. One of the train passengers received minor injuries.

Eventually, emergency personnel arrived at the scene and transported two people inside the pickup to a hospital in critical condition.

At this time, the identities of those hurt in the crash have not been made public. San Bernardino County Officials will provide more information once available.

Just like the open road, train tracks can be very dangerous to be around. It is important to abide by all railroad crossings. Never enter train tracks when an oncoming train is approaching. If, for some reason, an issue occurs near the train tracks, be sure to contact the authorities to assist you.
