Victims Hospitalized after Car Crash on Highway 101

ARCATA, CA (July 28, 2022) – Tuesday, two unidentified victims sustained injuries in an auto collision on Highway 101 near Sunset Avenue.

The two-car crash occurred just before 5:30 p.m., along Highway 101 near the Sunset Avenue off-ramp.

At this time, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, reports indicate that officers located a severely damaged Chevy Tahoe and red SUV upon arrival.

Investigators say the Tahoe had front-end damage, while the red SUV had rear-end damage.

Medics arrived and transported two occupants to nearby hospitals for further treatment. Although, authorities have not yet released their identities.

No other details regarding the collision near Sunset Avenue are currently available. Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.
