Police Chase on Slauson Avenue Injured 1 LAPD Officer and 1 Civilian

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 9, 2021) A Los Angeles Police Department officer and one citizen were injured after a police chase on Slauson Avenue.

Around 4:30 p.m. Monday afternoon, authorities were pursuing a vehicle that had been reported stolen in the area of Coliseum Street and West MLK Boulevard.

The patrol vehicle collided with a civilian car as the pursuit approached the intersection of Slauson Avenue and South Van Ness Avenue.

Due to the suspect’s risky driving, the police eventually called off the pursuit shortly after the crash.

Ultimately, Medics transported the officer and the civilian, both of whom had minor injuries, to a nearby hospital.

At this point, police have not confirmed their identities nor their conditions.

However, an active investigation is currently underway.

When involved in a car crash, do not attempt to flee the area. First, render aid to any injured victims and assess the situation. Then, get in touch with the police and medical care providers. Keep calm and cooperate with investigators.
