Plane Crash near Mojave and Space Port Left 2 People Injured

BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 30, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, paramedics located two injured people after a plane crash on Holt Street, police said.

Reports showed that a plane crashed near the Mojave & Space Port.

Furthermore, according to authorities, the preliminary investigation showed a single-engine, homebuilt VariEze aircraft went down southwest of the air and spaceport.

Additionally, the pilot of the aircraft also reported an engine problem prior to the collision.

Eventually, Kern County emergency responders arrived and located the two-seat plane at Oak Creek Road and Holt Street.

Paramedics transported two people to Antelope Valley Hospital with minor injuries.

Emergency crews temporarily closed the area to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Bakersfield Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the plane crash.
