Mother, Child Injured in Bicycle Accident on Fern Avenue
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 1, 2022) – Two unidentified individuals sustained injuries in a bicycle crash on 11th Street, Tuesday evening.
The collision happened just before 8:15 p.m., at the intersection of 11th Street and Fern Avenue.
Per reports, a mother and her child were biking in the area when they were hit by a 78-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Silverado.
Responding paramedics rushed both victims to a nearby hospital; the mother suffered major injuries while the child suffered minor injuries.
At this time, officers said both victims are in stable condition, and have not yet released their identities to the public.
Meanwhile, officers arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI and booked them into San Diego Central Jail. Authorities are conducting an active investigation of the crash and will publish more information once available.
