Two Killed in Auto Accident on Interstate 40

NEEDLES, CA (June 13, 2022) – Monday afternoon, two victims were pronounced dead following a pickup-truck crash near Five Mile Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just after 12:30 p.m., in the area of Interstate 40 and Five Mile Road.

Initial CHP reports did not indicate the cause of the collision. However, the impact of the crash ejected two people from the pickup, leaving them with fatal injuries.

At this time, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. The collision also resulted in the closure of the left lane of westbound I-40 while crews cleared the scene.
