Driver, Passenger Killed in Car Accident on Pennsylvania Drive

WATSONVILLE, CA (March 31, 2022) – Saturday night, two people lost their lives in a multi-car collision on Green Valley Road, on March 19.

The incident occurred around 11:27 p.m. Per reports, the driver of a 2016 Nissan Sentra was speeding and ran through a red light at the intersection.

Consequently, the Nissan then collided with a Chevy pickup-truck that was turning left onto Pennsylvania Drive. Afterward, the Chevy also struck a Honda that was stopped on Green Valley Road.

Officials found the driver of the Nissan Sentra, a 20-year-old man from Watsonville, dead at the scene. Meanwhile, paramedics took a 16-year-old Watsonville boy to a local hospital, where he also later died.

Authorities withheld both victims’ names until their loved ones are notified.

In addition, medics rushed a second passenger in the Nissan to a hospital, who expected to fully recover. The Chevy driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while the Honda driver remained unharmed.

Investigators have not provided further details; however, an active investigation to determine more information remains ongoing. At this time, Watsonville police urge anyone with information to contact their local offices.
