Fatal Rollover Collision near Val Vista Boulevard
CASA GRANDE, AZ (October 7, 2021) – Wednesday, two people were killed and multiple were hurt in a semi-truck accident on Interstate 10.
The deadly incident occurred on the westbound lanes of I-10, near Val Vista Boulevard. Dispatchers arrived to the scene shortly after.
For reasons unknown, a semi-truck driver crossed over the center median and traveled east in the westbound lanes. There, the semi-truck collided with two other big-rigs, as well as multiple other vehicles.
Upon impact, the wrong-way semi-truck burst into flames. Additionally, the other two big-rigs rolled over.
Paramedics pronounced two people dead at the scene, due to the extent of their condition. Meanwhile, several others were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
At this time, authorities have not stated how many people were hurt, or the extent of their injuries.
Moreover, the westbound lanes of I-10 were closed for about 11 hours during cleanup and preliminary duties. Although, the road has since reopened to traffic.
