Two People Die in Big Rig Collision on 85th Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (August 3, 2021) – Two people were killed tragically Monday night in Los Angeles after a big rig collision on 85th Street.

Officers were called to the scene of the crash at 85th and Alameda Street around 10 p.m. July 26th.

As per the CHP, only two vehicles were involved in the collision, the force of the collision partly pinned the car underneath the big rig.

One person died at the scene and another died later from their injuries at the hospital, according to officials.

Authorities withheld the victim’s identity at this time pending notification of next of kin.

A child’s car seat can be seen in the wreckage in video from the scene, but the CHP says the child was not in the car at the time of the crash.

Even though the cause of the accident still remains unknown, an investigation is underway. Further information will be posted once it is available.

Our deepest condolences and sympathies are with the family and friends of the victims.
