Minors Injured in DUI Collision on Santa Ana Avenue

FONTANA, CA (May 5, 2022) – Saturday night, two children were hurt and a driver was arrested after running a red light on Etiwanda Avenue.

Police responded to the scene around 7:00 p.m., at the intersection of Etiwanda and Santa Ana Avenue.

Per reports, the driver of a southbound gray Toyota Camry veered into the oncoming lanes of traffic. There, the Toyota struck a northbound vehicle that was stopped at a red light on Santa Ana Avenue.

After the impact, the Toyota driver got out of the vehicle and started throwing empty beer cans onto the side of the road before authorities arrived.

Police discovered two children inside the Toyota, ages 1 to 3. First responders transported the children to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, the passengers of the other vehicle declined medical attention. In addition, authorities later arrested the Camry driver for driving under the influence and child endangerment.
