Fiery Two-Vehicle Crash in Highway 50 Resulted in One Fatality

SACRAMENTO, CA (August 25, 2021) – Police are investigating a fiery crash on Highway 50 that claimed the life of an 18 year old man last Saturday in Sacramento.

Officers responded to the incident around 7:50 a.m. on westbound 50 near the Howe Avenue onramp.

Upon arrival, the responding officers discovered two vehicles on fire in the No. 3 lanes.

Later on, investigators determined that a Jeep became disabled and stopped in the number 3 lane for unknown reasons.

However, a Ford driver did not notice the disabled vehicle and struck it, resulting in a fiery crash.

Tragically, the Jeep driver, an 18-year-old man, succumbed to his injuries at the scene while the Ford driver remained uninjured.

At this time, the identity of the deceased victim continues to be unavailable, pending notification from their next of kin.
