DUI Accident on Burst Avenue Killed 15-Year-Old Girl, 4 More Injured

FRESNO, CA (September 22, 2021)  A 15-year-old girl lost her life Monday morning after a tragic DUI accident on Burst Avenue.

The crash happened just after 1:00 a.m. of September 20, on Burst Avenue and Force Street between First and Cedar.

According to the reports, a 17-year-old man drove a Honda Civic, for unknown reasons, swerved across the sidewalk then struck a tree. Seven people were inside the vehicle, two of them, including the driver, fled the scene after the crash, CHP added.

Responding officers located one 15-year-old girl, identified as Romero, with critical injuries. Tragically, she died at the scene from the injuries she sustained.

Meanwhile, medics took the other four teens to a local hospital with moderate to major injuries. At this time, officials have not released their current conditions.

Eventually, officers found the driver and arrested them with DUI charges.

Furthermore, the loved ones of the deceased made a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for her funeral.
