Young Boy Hurt in Hit-and-Run Accident near R Street

MERCED, CA (February 11, 2022) – Authorities are investigating the hit-and-run on 19th Street that injured a 12-year-old boy, Saturday evening.

According to investigators, a white Honda Accord struck a boy crossing with a group of kids just before 6:00 p.m., near R and 19th Street.

Upon impact, the driver did not stop and fled the scene without rendering aid to the young victim.

Eventually, medical responders arrived at the scene and transported the 12-year-old to a hospital with an injured ankle.

Merced Officials are asking anyone with information to contact the Merced Police Department.
