If you got a gun for Christmas and you don't like guns, take it back. If you got a gun for Christmas and you're not quite sure where it came from or where it's been, turn it into the LAPD anonymously.

You can do so today and, not only will cops not ask questions, they'll give you a gift card for $100 or $200 (the higher amount is for California-defined assault weapons). Here's the deal:

You legally secure your guns in your trunk and drive through a location, with cops there giving you instructions.

The LAPD says:

There is no paperwork, no photographs and no logging of anyone who surrenders a weapon.
