It's that time of year again, when you will be made to feel exceedingly guilty if you don't do something awesome for your mom. Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 11, and it makes for the biggest brunch day of the year. Many L.A. restaurants are serving special menus for Mother's Day, and those tables are getting booked up fast. So, don't be the crappy kid who forgot. A.O.C.

A.O.C. is offering a $40 brunch, with choices such as sweet pea pancakes, lobster gnocchi, braised pork belly, farro and black rice. 8700 W. 3rd St., Beverly Grove; 323-653-6359.

Craft

Craft will be offering a three course brunch menu for Mother's Day for $60 per person. Dishes include Dungeness crab and nettle florentine, and diver scallops with ramps. Seatings are available between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Dinner service will be the regular a la carte menu. 10100 Constellation Blvd, Century City; 310-279-4180.

Fig and Olive
Fig and Olive is offering special three course menus for both brunch and dinner on Mother's Day. The $40 brunch includes dishes such as asparagus goat cheese French omelet with Mediterranean fries, and crab cake eggs Benedict with tomato paprika hollandaise sauce. The $52 dinner includes items such as fettuccine shrimp mascarpone with grilled shrimp with San Marzano tomato and rosemary-infused mascarpone, and Chilean sea bass with mascarpone harissa olive oil emulsion. 8490 Melrose Place, West Hollywood; 310-360-9100.

Hakkasan
 

Hakkasan Beverly Hills will be serving a modern Cantonese Mother's Day menu that includes a steamed dim sum selection, as well as wild prawn with lily bulb and almond. The three-course menu is $48 per person, and will be served from noon to 8 p.m. 233 N. Beverly Drive, Beverly Hills; 310-888-8661.

The Larder at Burton Way 
Suzanne Goin will be offering Mother's Day brunch and dinner for dining in, but they'll also offer those meals packaged to go for four people or more. Brunch includes smoked fish with Redwood Hill goat cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes, and a frittata with asparagus, spinach and Cheddar, and costs $28 per person. Dinner includes lobster cobb salad with avocado, favas and asparagus, and braised chicken with artichokes and spring carrots, Pecorino and green garlic pudding, and costs $48. Orders for to-go meals for Mother's Day must be placed by 5 p.m. this Thursday. The Larder will deliver locally for a fee. 8500 Burton Way, Beverly Grove; 310-278-8060.

Maison Giraud
Maison Giraud is offering an a la carte brunch on Mother's Day, and a special prix fixe dinner menu. For $42 per person, dinner guests will be treated to a three course meal that includes chilled gazpacho and pan-roasted organic salmon. 1032 Swarthmore Ave., Pacific Palisades; 310-459-7562.

Patina
Patina will be serving a three course prix fixe Mother's Day brunch, with dishes including tartine of Dungeness crab, served with saffron aïoli, watercress salad, and tomato pain perdu, and zucchini agnolotti with spring peas à la Française and goat cheese emulsion. The cost is $55 per person and $29 for children 12 and under. Seating hours are 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. 141 S. Grand Ave., downtown; 213-972-3331.

Post & Beam
Chef Govind Armstrong will be serving a brunch buffet, featuring 14 breakfast, lunch and dessert options. Items include deviled eggs with grilled shrimp, country-style grits, and quinoa and grilled vegetable salad. The buffet is $36 per person and $18 for children 10 and under. There will be two seatings: 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. 3767 Santa Rosalia Drive, Baldwin Hills; 323-299-5599.

Public Kitchen & Bar
Public Kitchen & Bar in the Roosevelt hotel will offer both an a la carte menu and a $42 per person brunch buffet for mother's day. Items on the buffet include smoked salmon with dill yogurt, and herb roasted prime rib. They'll also offer $16 bottomless mimosas. 7000 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood; 323-769-8888.

Vertical Wine Bistro 
Vertical will be offering a two course, $39 brunch from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Dishes include blueberries and banana compote French toast, and smoked salmon Benedict. Bottomless cocktails are available for $15. 70 N. Raymond Ave., Pasadena; 626-795-3999.
